LINE COOK WANTED
- Eugene's Favorite Dive Bar Let's be real: this isn't a five-star kitchen. There's no molecular gastronomy here, no tasting menus, no chef's whites. What we do have is cold beer, loyal regulars, loud games on TV, and a kitchen that needs someone who knows how to handle their station, nail the prep work, and keep the food coming. We're a Eugene dive bar with a lot of history and a kitchen that punches above its weight. We're looking for a line cook who takes their craft seriously even when the setting is anything but fancy — someone who finds satisfaction in solid prep work as much as the rush of a slammed service. And if you've got ideas? We're listening. There's real room here to help shape specials and put your stamp on the menu.
What You'll Do:
Cook and prep food to order, consistently and efficiently Handle prep work that sets the kitchen up for success every shift Contribute ideas for specials and menu development — creativity is welcome here Own your station — keep it clean, organized, and sanitary at all times Self-manage your workflow without someone standing over your shoulder Show up and bring your A-game for every Duck home game (this is non-negotiable — Eugene on game day is a whole thing, and we need all hands)
Requirements:
Prior experience in a food service environment, such as restaurant or catering settings, is preferred but not mandatory Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic food preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail A clean, organized work ethic Flexibility - we offer both full-time and part-time
What We Offer:
A low-drama kitchen with a tight crew Flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time — we'll make it work) Staff meal/drink perks A real say in specials and menu direction — your ideas have a home here Game day energy that you can't find behind a desk The satisfaction of feeding a bar full of happy, hungry people A place where your work actually matters to the whole vibe of the room If you've been grinding in high-stress kitchens and want something more human-scale — or if you just love the bar world and want to cook in it — we want to hear from you.
Pay:
$16.50 - $22.00 per hour
Benefits:
Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training
Work Location:
In person
