Job Description

Mary's Woods is looking for a Dietary Cook with professional experience, passion and creativity. This is a great opportunity for a Dietary Cook with experience in preparing both hot and cold food for service for our assisted living neighborhoods. The skill set we are looking for includes general knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety, specialty dietary requirements to include modified texture diet, therapeutic diets, allergens, reduced sodium and sugar. The Dietary Cook must be able to work in a busy & high production open kitchen and strive to bring culinary excellence to our senior living community. Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We pride ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring and welcoming culture. We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values. Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful: Responsible for the preparation of all food items on the menu for residents and according to the work production sheets, menus, special request lists and verbal requests by care team staff members Prepare the proper amounts of all foods on the menu in accordance with dietary and production spreadsheets, standardized recipe preparation methods, portion control, time schedules and sanitary standards, as well as serving procedures Become proficient in and ensure accuracy in the production of all mechanically altered food items to specific ISDDSI requirements Ensure adequate stock levels for all necessary food items in a given satellite service kitchen Able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents, and families and to work as a team with other employees at all levels
Education and Experience:
Education and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED Minimum of three years experience as a cook in a quality food services operation preferred Current Oregon Food Handlers card

Schedule:
Sunday - Thursday 11:00 am - 7:30 pm. This is a full-time position that will include working weekends and holidays.
