Buckman neighborhood vegan pan-Asian date night spot has an opening for a Line Cook position with
Jade Rabbit is an entirely vegan dim sum restaurant, queer and family-friendly destination in Portland's Buckman neighborhood. Our establishment features a vegan dim sum experience, pan-Asian fare, Chinese tea service, sake, NA beverages and cocktails. You'll be joining a worker owned inclusive crew and Trans&Queer POC/Ally worker owners who are involved in every aspect of the business, every day. We work really hard to see everyone here has a healthy and accountable work environment and we all learn a ton in the process to keep this operation humming. We'd like someone who is...Available on weekends Saturday, Sunday and Monday Nights.
Seasoned server with 2+ years (or equivalent) of full-time experience in a full-service restaurant and/or cooking environment. Understanding of Kitchen Service and willingness to adapt to our unique service and procedures.
Willing to learn about vegan/Asian cuisine and is capable of memorizing terms deriving from Asian languages/cultures as they pertain to the dishes we're serving.
Knows how to meet staff and customers where they are at while maintaining a friendly and smart demeanor (even amidst the chaos of dinner crunch).Sense of urgency when working and always looking to complete the next task at hand.
Strong communication skills between co-workers, FOH and BOH. We use a communication App Slack for all restaurant messaging, lists and updates.

Expectations:
This position is exactly of what you'd expect for a Closing Line Position. You'll be starting your shift with various tasks for service including restocking, prepping items for the line, dimsum prep, running a line station position yourself, updating prep/buy lists and maintaining general cleanliness and health code in the restaurant.We'd like someone who is...Available on weekends Saturday, Sunday and Monday Nights.
