Line Cook / Window / Prep

We are seeking a line cook and or a window person to add to our small dedicated team. The job consists of cooking meat, fish, vegetables and tortillas on a flat top and then assembling them into burritos, plates, tacos and quesadillas. Responsibilities also include maintaining the quality, taste and consistency of things like beans, rice and salsas throughout the course of a shift. You will work with a support person and another cook who will assist you on the line. Tips are split between all workers (usually 3, sometimes 2) and are consistently quite high. All of our workers have been given raises within the first few months. Most of our staff has stayed with us for multiple years and you will be walking into a kitchen with a lot of experience in the food cart world. This is an ideal job for someone who has a passion for Mexican food. Although experience in Mexican food is highly preferred, enthusiasm and a desire to learn is also important. It is also an opportunity to learn everything about the food cart business as you will frequently be working alongside the owner. Though cooking is the primary duty, motivated individuals can also be trained in other areas of the cart and business if the fit is right.

The cart, as well as the pod, has a strong sense of community and service. We talk and hang out with our customers and other workers in the pod. Any individuals associated with our business will be engaged in conversation frequently and expected to keep the friendly attitude we have worked so hard to cultivate in our neighborhood. We fully comply with all health and safety protocols concerning covid-19 in regard to both customers and staff. The Health of our staff is of the utmost importance.
