This role ensures proper food handling, sanitation, and service while supporting campus events and dining operations. What You'll Do Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards, including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct Follow Residents' Rights policies at all times Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information, conditions, and family matters Support all Dining Services restaurants and campus events Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations Read food orders or receive verbal instructions, and prepare and cook food accordingly Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items Apply intermediate to advanced knife skills Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and maintain records for accurate planning and supply requisition Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following GSV and regulatory rules Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times Perform all duties efficiently, timely, and professionally Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Attend allergy and foodborne illness in-service training Participate in classroom and virtual training programs as designated Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner Receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs, and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets Produce batch goods using basic cooking techniques as needed What We're Looking For Available to work weekends and holidays Ability to work closely with others in a cooperative spirit Identify with and promote the Mission and Philosophy of Garden Spot Village Knowledge of cooking procedures and large quantity recipes Ability to prepare and serve food according to menus and recipes Willingness to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs Demonstrates initiative and professionalism Graduation from a food-related course (ServSafe) helpful Ability to relate and communicate effectively with employees, residents, and the general public in a friendly and professional manner Must work scheduled weekends and holidays May be required to work irregular schedules on short notice Why You'll Love Working at Garden Spot At Garden Spot Village, you'll be part of a purpose-driven team committed to compassion, respect, and integrity.
