Job Description

This is a is a caring, nonprofit skilled nursing facility providing medical, nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, and recreational support for adults with neuromuscular impairments. We're built on a family-like environment, where residents are empowered to reach their highest independence and quality of life Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Evening Cook to join our Dietary Services team. You'll prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet the unique dietary needs of our residents—including therapeutic, texture-modified, and specialized diets. You'll collaborate with the Dietary Director and care staff to ensure every meal supports residents' health and comfort. Shifts will be 11:00 - 7:00 and every other weekend. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for up to ~80 residents Follow therapeutic meal plans (e.g., diabetic, texture-modified, nutrient-enhanced) Ensure proper food safety, storage, and sanitation standards Adapt meals for special diets and document changes Monitor inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment upkeep Assist with menu planning and recipe adaptation Support dietary staff training and maintain compliance with health regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of cooking experience in a healthcare, residential, or large-scale environment Experience with therapeutic or special diets a plus Food safety certification required (e.g., ServSafe) Strong organizational and time-management skills Team-player mindset with excellent communication skills Able to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and occasional weekends What We Offer Competitive pay Comprehensive benefits package: Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off Supportive work environment and ongoing training Meaningful work that directly improves residents' lives in a family-like setting
