  • Portuguese, Spanish, Mediterranean Cuisine Well established Portuguese Restaurant in East Providence, RI is seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly-motivated Line Cook for a full time position.
If you have a passion for Portuguese cuisine and utilizing fresh ingredients we want you on our team.
Responsibilities:
Sets up and stocks stations with food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards to ensure consistency, and beautiful plating. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. Communicate clearly with the Head Chef, sous chefs, and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
Line Cook Qualifications/Skills:
Basic written and verbal communication skills (Fluent in Portuguese or Spanish a plus) Organizational skills Accuracy and speed in executing tasks Ability to work as a team member Follows directions and instructions
Experience Requirements:
Experience:
3+ years of experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
Specialty Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with Portuguese, Spanish or Mediterranean cuisine is highly preferred.
Skills:
Excellent knife skills and mastery of various cooking methods and procedures.
Accountability:
Reliable transportation, punctuality, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Certifications:
Current ServSafe or local Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain).
