Posted Salary Range USD $20.40 - USD $21.90 /Hr. Overview Cook Pawtucket Falls is seeking a reliable and skilled Cook to join our dietary team, a long-term care and rehabilitation center located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island . The Cook plays a vital role in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents in accordance with their dietary restrictions and physician-ordered meal plans. This position ensures that residents receive meals that are safe, appealing, and served on schedule in compliance with state and federal regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience as a Cook , preferably in a nursing home, hospital, or healthcare setting . Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, pureed). ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and diet orders. Ensure food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with Department of Health and facility sanitation standards. Assist in menu planning and ensure proper portion control and presentation. Coordinate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to maintain smooth meal service. Monitor food and supply inventory; report shortages or equipment issues promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, storage, and food prep areas. Follow safety and infection control procedures at all times. Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and quality improvement initiatives.
