Bordertown BBQ Overnight Prep Cook / Pit Assistant - Bordertown BBQ Bordertown BBQ is looking for a dependable overnight prep cook / pit assistant to help manage our smokers and assist with nighttime kitchen prep. This is a third-shift position for someone who works well independently, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in doing things the right way. Our BBQ is cooked low and slow, overnight, with a lot of care and patience. This role is extremely important to the quality and consistency of our food. Responsibilities Monitor and manage smokers throughout the night Rotate meats in the smoker as needed for even cooking Check temperatures and maintain fire/smoker consistency Assist with light prep work for the following day Keep prep areas and kitchen clean and organized Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times Communicate notes and updates clearly to the daytime kitchen team Requirements Reliable and punctual Comfortable working overnight shifts independently Able to stay organized and focused during slower overnight hours Kitchen, BBQ, prep, or smoker experience preferred, but willing to train the right person Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Strong work ethic and attention to detail What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience and skill A laid-back but hardworking kitchen environment Opportunity to learn authentic Texas-style BBQ techniques Shift meals Growth opportunities within the restaurant If you love BBQ, enjoy hands-on kitchen work, and don't mind the night shift, we'd love to hear from you.
