  • Full-time Big Fish is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our high-energy, scratch-driven kitchen focused on seafood, oysters, fried chicken and elevated casual dining.
In this role you will prepare ingredients and support the culinary team, ensuring consistent quality and presentation in our fast-paced waterfront environment. The position is based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and will start in late June 2026.
Responsibilities :
Prepare and portion ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, filleting seafood, and preparing marinades, stocks and sauces. Maintain a clean and organized prep station, adhering to sanitation and food safety standards. Assist line cooks by replenishing stations and ensuring proper mise en place throughout service. Label, date and store food items properly to minimize waste and ensure freshness. Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunctions. Support dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as needed to keep the kitchen running efficiently. Work closely with the sous chef and line cooks to execute menu items accurately and consistently.
Qualifications:
Previous kitchen experience preferred, especially in high-volume restaurants. Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays. Team player with a positive attitude and attention to detail. Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.
