Position Summary:

The Daycare Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen. This role also includes washing and sanitizing bottles and ensuring all food preparation meets childcare licensing and health standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve daily breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children Follow planned menus and portion guidelines to meet children's nutritional needs Wash, sanitize, and maintain bottles and feeding supplies daily Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times, including dishes, surfaces, and equipment Follow all food safety guidelines (proper food handling, storage, temperature checks, and sanitation practices) Accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions Keep accurate records (meal counts, food logs, cleaning logs if required) Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs Ensure compliance with state childcare licensing and health department regulations Support a positive and safe mealtime environment

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Experience in cooking or food preparation (childcare or school setting preferred) Knowledge of basic nutrition and food safety practices Ability to follow structured routines and schedules

From $11.85 per hour
