As a dietary professional at Grand Brook Memory Care, the Line Cook is responsible for the overall activities of community food services and is part of a team that strives to care for and support their residents and their families the same way they would care for their own loved ones.
Job Description:
The Line Cook will provide a broad variety food service support to the community staff, residents and clients. Responsibilities range from the preparation, coordination and serving of meals, sanitation of food service areas, accurate record keeping, receiving, rotating and inventory of products and regulatory compliance. This position will ensure all special dietary needs are met and prepare texture modified foods as directed by the residents' medical team. Other tasks (not an all inclusive list) include:
- Follows specially prepared Grand Brook menus and production sheets to maintain the highest possible qualityand consistency.
- Record temperature checks and report concerns for food, dishwasher, cooler and freezer as directed.
- Compliance with all record keeping, food safety and risk management in accordance with Federal, State and Local health department standards & codes.
- Ensures proper handling, preparation, coordination and production of breakfast, lunch and dinner service; aswell as cold food, meat & poultry and baking details.
- Accepts responsibility of various kitchen staff roles & functions including Prep Cook and Culinary Manager intheir absence.
Qualifications:
Education:
One year certificate from college or technical school. Valid Food Handler's Permit. Experience:
Two to three years of related experience and required education; or equivalent combinationof education and experience. Minimum one year batch cooking experience utilizing commercial kitchenequipment.

Other:
Dedication to serve seniors with passion and excellent customer service. Flexibility to performvarious duties in service to the residents, clients and staff, with the ability to work in a team environment.
Available to work weekend coverage and "on‐call" hours as needed. Ability to read, write, speak andinterpret English.
