Job Description
South Austin's The Little Darlin' is now hiring a lead PM line cook to join our team. We focus on seasonal cuisine using farm fresh ingredients. Our menus are constantly evolving and appreciates input from all of our team members. There is opportunity for all of our team members to be creative. We are looking for candidates that are dedicated, passionate about cooking, motivated to learn, can fit into an extremely tight knit crew, and are driven to make excellent food and grow with our kitchen.
ABOUT YOUResponsibilitiesYou are efficient organizing your time and projects, making sure your station is prepped and stocked with all the necessary items to have a successful service.
You maintain a clean kitchen, including walk in, dry storage, and line stations throughout service periods, prep periods and shut down time.
You maintain a clean and professional appearance.
You maintain state and federal health guidelines for food safety.
You check the freshness of produce and prepared food to ensure all recipes and portioning methods are followed consistently.
You have the ability to foster a climate of cooperation, collaboration, teamwork, and respect for everyone.
RequirementsBasic knowledge of food preparation, knife skills, and food safety practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
We make really good food in a bar setting using local and in season ingredients with multiple menus that are always evolving.

We receive as much product locally and seasonally as possible and when we cannot we only use the best sustainable and responsibly sourced goods and produce.
We change our menu regularly as to only use ingredients at the peak of their freshness.
We love collaboration, input and creativity to help us put out the best product possible.
We have a goal to have a zero waste kitchen so there will be many fermentation and preservation projects.
COMPENSATIONMarket pay based upon experience.
