Job Description

Since 2013, we have been a fixture in our neighborhood, specializing in Neapolitan pizza and seasonal Italian food with a dedicated and ever-evolving natural wine program. Bufalina consistently ranks on Austin dining lists including Eater and Austin-American Statesman.

Our kitchen focuses on house-made cheeses, bread & pasta with the sole intention of providing a meal that makes folks want to come back and become regulars at our spot. We source locally as much as possible and we move with intention and dedication to the intricacies of simple cooking and seasonality.

We're looking for a strong line cook to join our team!

RESPONSIBILITIESHave an in-depth knowledge of the menu, recipes, ingredients, and procedures.

Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with training and maintaining a team of motivated, hard-working cooks in a positive, learning environment. A team that looks for solutions, not excuses. And a team that treats one another and FOH with respect.

Work collaboratively and respectfully with the entire team, both BOH and FOH. Responsible for maintaining across-the-board quality standards. This applies to food, efficiency, cleanliness, etc.

Maintains a level of professionalism, punctuality for shifts, and self-motivation when working and upholds the BOH team members to the same standards..Executes prep, recipes, and cooking techniques with accuracy and consistency and assists in training and in upholding the same standards for the BOH team..Supports the Executive Chef and Sous Chef by overseeing day to day operations, keeping them up to date with any issues and/or challenges the team is facing. Assists with inventory control, cost, and ordering
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be 18 years of age or olderHas STRONG communication skills and genuinely enjoys communicating with people Can maintain professionalism, positive attitude during peak service hoursSchedule flexibility/available to work weekends and some holidaysAble to work an average of 40 hours/weekPunctual/arrives on time for scheduled shiftsHas an active interest in learning and studying food and wineSelf-motivated worker Strong multitasking skillsActive Food Handler s Certification
