Full job description Job Summary A Convenience Store Cook prepares and cooks food items for customers in a fast-paced convenience store environment. This position is responsible for food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, stocking ingredients, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring the kitchen and food service areas remain clean and organized. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items such as breakfast foods, sandwiches, fried foods, pizza, hot deli items, and snacks. Follow recipes, portion controls, and food preparation guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food prep areas, and serving stations. Monitor food temperatures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Restock food supplies, ingredients, and packaging items as needed. Properly label, store, and rotate food products. Assist customers with food orders and provide friendly customer service. Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, grills, and microwaves safely. Dispose of expired or spoiled food items according to company procedures. Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low-stock items. Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient store operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous cooking, food service, or convenience store experience preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
