Dallas, TX Job Details Part-time | Full-time 12 hours ago Qualifications Food Handler Certification Full Job Description The Stewpot, a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, has partnered with The Bridge since 2008 as the sole meal provider, supplying the kitchen team, food, and volunteers for daily meal services. The Stewpot provides approximately 900 meals each day to neighbors experiencing homelessness. The Meal Services Cook plays an important role within The Stewpot's Meal Services program at The Bridge. This position supports the preparation and service of nutritious, high-volume meals while helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming kitchen environment. Working alongside kitchen staff, volunteers, and leadership, the Meal Services Cook helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and served with dignity, hospitality, and excellence. Job Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and execution of daily meal services for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Prepare food according to established menus, recipes, and food safety standards. Maintain quality, consistency, and timeliness in meal preparation and service. Follow all food safety standards, sanitation requirements, health department regulations, and organizational policies. Support daily opening, closing, cleaning, and kitchen organization procedures. Assist with receiving, storing, rotating, and organizing food and kitchen supplies. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service operations. Assist with food production, meal assembly, serving, and other kitchen duties as assigned. Work alongside volunteers with patience, hospitality, and professionalism, helping create a positive and welcoming experience. Support an environment where neighbors, volunteers, and colleagues feel welcomed, valued, and respected. Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing operational needs. Perform other duties as assigned to support Meal Services operations. Previous commercial kitchen or high-volume food service experience preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed. Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-oriented under pressure. Food Handler certificate required. ServeSafe Manager Certificate preferred. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
