The Cook II actively handles the preparation of various types of foods using a variety of techniques including braising, grilling, broiling, blanching, and sauté items. Candidate should have professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures, and should be able to work single-stations in the kitchen. Additional responsibilities include checking the quality of finished food products, ensuring efficient preparation methods and procedures on a daily basis, receiving products from the storeroom, and supporting Cook 1's training and development. This is an advantageous opportunity if you desire to pursue a professional career and leadership roles in the Culinary Industry!

  • At least 2 years of experience working in various kitchens, such as the Garde Manger Cold kitchen, Hot Side Banquet kitchen, 3-meal restaurants, Pastry Kitchen & Butcher area strongly desired
  • Hotel cooking experience and/or culinary degree preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Requires moderate supervision and training
  • Texas Food Handlers Certification required
