Cashier and Food Prep Cook

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking, and supporting the overall efficiency of food service operations. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and menu plans. Perform food handling tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Support chefs and cooks in cooking tasks as needed, ensuring timely service delivery. Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Ensure proper storage of food items to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively while following all safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours. Qualifications Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred. Previous experience in restaurants or kitchens is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills, including knife skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to assist with catering services as needed. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in meal preparation. A team player with good communication skills who can work well under pressure. A passion for the food industry and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
