This role focuses on food preparation, assembly, heating, plating, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. This is not a traditional line cook position—there is no deep frying, grill cooking, or extensive scratch cooking. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, works well independently, and takes pride in serving consistent, high-quality food. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients according to recipes and portion standards Assemble menu items for Happy Hour, Bar Bites, and Dinner service Heat and finish menu items according to established procedures Plate and garnish food for presentation and consistency Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times Label, date, and properly store food products Keep prep areas, equipment, and kitchen spaces clean and organized Complete daily opening and closing kitchen duties Monitor product levels and communicate low inventory items to management Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed Qualifications Previous kitchen, prep cook, food service, or restaurant experience preferred Ability to work independently and stay productive during slower periods Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Strong attention to detail and consistency Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Dependable attendance and punctuality required Current Food Handler Certification preferred or willingness to obtain one Schedule Part-time Evening and weekend availability preferred Flexible scheduling based on business needs Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunities for growth as our food program expands Why Work at Day Drink Lounge?
