Job Summary:
Menard Manor is seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our food service team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to residents in a long-term care setting. No prior experience is requiredwe will train the right candidate on site. The ideal candidate is reliable, willing to learn, and committed to providing quality meals and excellent service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines Ensure meals meet resident dietary restrictions and special nutrition needs Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and serving of food Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and food service areas Follow food safety standards and infection control procedures at all times Store food properly and ensure proper labeling and rotation of supplies (FIFO method) Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries Work collaboratively with dietary team members and facility staff Ensure timely meal service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Maintain a safe and organized kitchen environment
Qualifications:
No prior cooking experience required - training provided on site Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus but not required Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and food safety guidelines Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen-related physical tasks Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Schedule:
Varied shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on facility needs
