Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role involves meal preparation, menu planning, and ensuring that all food safety and handling standards are met. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency in food quality. Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling techniques. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service. Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including regular cleaning of workstations and equipment. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients. Qualifications Proven experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a fast-paced, fine dining kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen tools. A passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation. Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus but not required.
