Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and flavor. Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients to streamline kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols. Support menu planning efforts by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials. Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service times, ensuring timely delivery of orders. Assist with catering events or special functions as needed, providing excellent food service that exceeds guest expectations. Qualifications Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department is highly desirable. Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pots or ingredients, and work flexible hours as needed.
