Job Purpose The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and menu components according to company recipes and standards. This role ensures stations are properly stocked and organized while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment. Prep Cooks play a key role in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring food is prepared efficiently and to quality expectations. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping, portioning, mixing, and measuring Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before each shift Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas throughout the shift Label, date, and store all food items properly for freshness and safety Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines Work quickly and efficiently to support timely food preparation Communicate equipment, product, or supply needs to management promptly Assist in training new kitchen team members when requested Perform additional duties as assigned by management Qualifications Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred; multiple station experience a plus Strong understanding of basic cooking and preparation methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Excellent teamwork, organization, and communication skills Safe Food Handler certification preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred Working Conditions Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and wet floors Requires standing and walking for extended periods Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally Frequent handwashing and use of gloves required Schedule includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Puttery is committed to equal opportunity in the workplace, preventing discrimination and harassment, including sexual misconduct, based on legally protected diversity characteristics (such as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family status, citizenship, genetic information and veteran status) in its application and hiring processes and in its employment decisions.
