If you are fortunate enough to work at the Lodge, you'll live in Little Cottonwood Canyon, ski your brains out, fill your belly with good food, and work with a great group of people." - Dr. Ken Libre, MD, Alta Medical Clinic At the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains, Alta is known for its steep terrain, backcountry access, and nearly 550 inches yearly average of the best snow anywhere. We are a traditional ski lodge located at the base of the mountain at Alta, with ski-in ski-out access to Alta Ski Area. We are looking for friendly, energetic people who are committed to excellent guest service and who love to ski or snowboard. We have fun, and we work hard.
Job Description:
Prepare food to chef's expectations and set up stations for the daily menu. Duties include assisting head chef and sous chef, assisting the line for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service, food prep, opportunity for baking duties, and providing service that aligns with Alta Lodge values of excellent guest service. Requires food handler certification, which can be provided through the Lodge.
Job Duties:
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies Prepare for food service i.e. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces, etc. Cook menu items in cooperation with the entire kitchen staff Preparing high quality employee meals, providing the opportunity for guest menu development and creativity Answer, report, and follow head/sous chef instructions Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock and track inventory properly Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Help manage employees within other departments when physically in or interacting with kitchen Employee Perks Ski-in-ski-out access to Alta Ski Area Daily ski time Ski pass Employee meals Ski locker Parking permit Sitzmark access Employee housing available Insurance, PTO, 401K available for eligible employees after one year Our summer season runs from June-October, and our winter season runs late November-April. Our employees have the opportunity to travel/take time off during our shoulder seasons, but work is also available as needed.
