Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Prep Cook to join our culinary team! In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen, responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and ensuring that all food items meet our high standards for quality and safety. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and kitchen operations will help create a seamless dining experience for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a team dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to menu specifications. Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling salads, sandwiches, and other menu items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station, adhering to food safety standards at all times. Support cooking staff by providing prepared ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of supplies during service. Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness. Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for upcoming dishes and special events. Support catering efforts by preparing large quantities of food in accordance with event requirements. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. Familiarity with food industry standards, including food safety and handling protocols. Skills in knife work, meal preparation, and cooking techniques are essential. Experience with menu planning, food presentation, and catering is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of culinary practices related to food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
