Job Description

Part Time Cook - Hurricane Health & Rehab Skilled Nursing Facility |
Where Care Meets Community Schedule:
Sunday 12hr shift Make a daily difference in the lives of our residents—one meal at a time. We're hiring an part time Cook to join our kitchen team at Hurricane Health & Rehab. In this role, you'll help create a warm, nourishing environment for our residents by preparing meals that are both nutritious and comforting. You'll work closely with a supportive team that values quality care and meaningful connections.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and serve meals based on planned menus and standardized recipes Ensure food is flavorful, visually appealing, and aligns with residents' dietary needs Follow portion guidelines and accommodate therapeutic diets Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen Assist with inventory and special meal prep for events or resident requests Collaborate with team members to ensure resident satisfaction Follow all food safety and infection control protocols
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
Experience in a healthcare or senior living kitchen is a plus, but not required
Certification:
Current Food Handler's Permit (or willing to get one within the first week)
Attributes:
Dependable, compassionate, and enjoys working with seniors
Skills:
Able to follow recipes and communicate clearly in
English Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and complete hands-on kitchen work Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, odors, and cleaning products Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
