Job Description

SVJC is accepting applications for a full-time Cook. SVJC is a 24-hour secure detention center serving court detained youth through the age of 17. Position is responsible for preparing, cooking, serving, and cleaning. Position will provide assistance in ordering, receiving, and stocking. Prefer experience with institutional food service operation. Prefer applicants with knowledge of USDA School Nutrition Program menu format and record keeping. Applicants will be required to pass a criminal background check, central registry check, pre-employment physical including the ability to regularly lift and carry forty (40) pounds, driving record check, and a drug screening. SVJC is a tobacco and drug free facility/grounds. This position is for 4 ten (10) hour days and rotating weekends. Position offers a starting salary of $34,000.00 with full-time benefits. Must be 21 or older to apply.
