This role supports the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes meet BGCC's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced, member-focused dining environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items for lunch and dinner service according to BGCC recipes and standards. Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, marinating, and assembling ingredients. Plate and present dishes with attention to quality, consistency, and presentation. Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and safety. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, prep areas, and workstations. Operate and properly maintain kitchen equipment and tools. Collaborate with culinary team, servers, and management to ensure smooth service flow. Assist with banquet and special event food preparation when required. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Uphold BGCC's quality standards and professional appearance at all times. Qualifications Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, country club, or catering environment preferred. Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety. Washington State Food Handler's Permit required (or ability to obtain). Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously. Ability to lift 30-50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude. Key Attributes Dependable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality meals. Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation and presentation. Collaborative team player with effective communication skills. Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure. Enthusiastic about providing exceptional dining experiences to members and guests.
