Job Description

Full Time Cook Position's---mid-afternoon into evening; some day and opening shifts Full Service Restaurant cooking for dining room and two lounges. Overview We are seeking a resolute and skilled Cook to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a strong understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Manage food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients using proper knife techniques. Preparation of sauces, soups, and other items as needed or directed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Follow all safety protocols while operating kitchen equipment and handling food products. Communicate both verbally and in writing to the supervisor and/or manager day-to-day information needed for the successful operation of the business. Experience Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant environment with breakfast, lunch, and dinner cooking experience. (Minimum of 2 years is required) Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations within the food industry. Familiarity with various cooking techniques and equipment used in commercial kitchens. Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation tasks. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a cheerful outlook under pressure. Ability to speak, hear, read, and write clearly in English. Requirements Must be able to work professionally within a team, and on occasion work independently. Requires standing entire shift, walking and carrying items short distances throughout an 8-10 hour shift. Frequent turning/twisting at the torso, shoulder area, and wrist, finger manipulation, reaching above head or shoulders, bending, and pulling/pushing at the waist and shoulder level. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 35 lbs., regularly up to 50 lbs. throughout shift of essential duties. Prompt arrival for scheduled shifts and consistent attendance is required in this position. Must have reliable transportation. Pay range for this position:
Starting wage is $19.00/hour.
