Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Child Care Cook to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and balanced meals that support the health and development of young children. Your culinary expertise will ensure that meal times are enjoyable, safe, and aligned with dietary guidelines. Duties Plan and prepare a variety of nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the dietary needs of children in care Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards for the Early Childhood Centers. Collaborate with staff to develop age-appropriate menus that meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate allergies or special diets Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies Assist with food service during meal times, serving meals with care and attention to presentation Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage food waste efficiently. Follow all licensing regulations related to food preparation in child care settings Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports. Strive for continual improvement of the food program. Requirements Ability to meet Child and Adult Care Food Program Requirements. Proven experience in dietary department roles, including menu planning and food preparation for groups of children or similar populations Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures Experience working in dietary aide positions within childcare, healthcare, or educational environments preferred Skilled in culinary techniques such as knife skills, meal preparation, and cooking across diverse cuisines including fine dining or catering experience beneficial Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting Knowledge of food industry standards related to serving children and maintaining high-quality food service Join us in creating a positive impact on children's health by providing delicious, safe, and nutritious meals. Pay:
$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
