Automotive Painter & Detailer Phoenix, AZ | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 5:00 AM-1:30
PM Pay:
$19-$26/hr DOE A Phoenix work-truck upfitting shop is hiring an Automotive Painter & Detailer to help prep, paint, inspect, and finish commercial truck bodies and related parts. This role is a good fit for someone with automotive paint experience who takes pride in clean work, notices small details, and can keep jobs moving in a fast-paced shop. About the work You will help prepare truck bodies and parts before paint, inspect work before and after painting, and handle finishing/detail work so completed jobs are ready for the customer. This is hands-on shop work that requires attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to take ownership of your area. Daily responsibilities Coordinate with the supervisor and team to prioritize work Inspect incoming items for quality before paint prep begins Prep parts for paint, including scuffing, taping, masking, and surface prep Inspect painted work for runs, streaks, orange peel, or other finish issues Correct paint issues as needed through wet sanding, buffing, or touch-up work Handle post-paint detail work such as cleaning, touch-up painting, and installing small finishing items Track and manage paint shop supplies Perform quality checks on jobs coming in and going out Experience needed Minimum 2+ years working in the automotive paint industry Familiarity with waterborne and solvent-based paints Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards Valid driver's license Able to stand, bend, and move for extended periods Able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Good problem-solving skills Able to multitask and prioritize in a busy shop environment Pay & Benefits $19-$26/hr DOE Full-time schedule Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-1:30
