Boat / Yacht Detailers - Maintenance

Job Summary:

Protects boats with appropriate materials prior to repair work by other department personnel. Cleans, buffs, and polishes boat interiors and exteriors in preparation of delivery to customers. Works under minimal supervision to complete tasks.

Essential Duties:

Cleans and details boats performing any combination of the following. Vacuum interior to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner; pumps bilge. Using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices (cloths and brushes) treats areas to remove dust, dirt, grease, and grime. May apply special cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer. Understanding of various cleaning agents for use on specific boat parts. May use buffing compounds for polishing fiberglass and metal deck hardware. Through experience and judgment, recognizes and reports on items for repair by other trained staff. May have heavy contact with customers, requiring diplomacy and pleasant attitude. Able to meet efficiency standards to meet schedule and budget. May assist other departments during slow periods or special events Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area. All work to be performed to Viking Company quality standards. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
