LT/ST Disability, Cancer, Accident, Life 401(k) Option with company match Gym Discounts 5 Day work week Christmas Club savings plan Paid Volunteer Time Off Paid Time Off Position Summary The Detailer/Car Washer is responsible for cleaning, refurbishing, and preparing new and used vehicles to Nelson Auto Group's quality standards. This role supports both the Service and Sales Departments by ensuring vehicles are clean, visually appealing, and ready for customer delivery or lot presentation. The Detailer helps maintain an orderly work environment and contributes to the overall guest experience through excellence in appearance standards. Essential Responsibilities Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes. Apply wax to vehicle surfaces and buff by hand or machine to preserve shine and protection. Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove dirt, debris, and loose particles. Clean upholstery, carpets, and other interior components using appropriate cleaning agents and tools. Apply revitalizers, conditioners, and protective treatments to vinyl, leather, and fabric surfaces. Clean engines and engine compartments using steam-cleaning equipment and approved chemicals. Use special-purpose cleaners for substances not removable by standard cleaning methods. Take and upload vehicle photos to Dealer Bible as required. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service/reconditioning facility. Operate and maintain the shop heater with used oil during cold months. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Positive attitude and strong can-do mentality. Hardworking personality with demonstrated leadership traits and eagerness to learn. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting. Exposure to water, cleaning agents, and outdoor weather conditions. Must be comfortable working around moving vehicles and shop equipment.
