JOB TITLE
Kitchen StewardSUPERVISOR
Retreat ChefPOSITION SUMMARY
To represent the highest standard of excellence in kitchen cleanliness and organization. The primary purpose of the position is ensuring the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times. The Kitchen Steward will maintain a proper level of clean inventory with a high standard of cleanliness according to California health code andCOVID-19
guidelines. The Kitchen Steward, upon demonstrated job performance excellence, will be considered for numerous growth opportunities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
OPENING DUTIES Clock in, check the communication board for announcements and memos Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order Check all chemical levels and inventory Sets up rack for dirty dishes Help to maintain coffee/tea and beverage stationSHIFT DUTIES
Adhere to all sanitation guidelines Wash dishes Sweep and mop floors Clean dining area as needed Dispose of waste Ensure all items are clean according to sanitation guidelines Maintain a clean and organized work area Monitor proper tank temperatures and chemicals Record all breakage Assist the Cooks when neededCLOSING DUTIES
Complete day-end dishwasher maintenance; Clean all soiled items; Dispose of all broken items in the proper area; Remove trash and waste; Clean and sanitize workstations. Sweep and mop dish area Make sure food is not left in dishwasher drain or in disposalSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Able to work days, evenings and/or weekends Clean, with good hygiene habits Communicates effectively Detail-oriented; Multi-tasks efficiently; Organized, accurate and reliable Prioritizes and works efficiently with limited supervision Professional attitude and expectations Positive and upbeat attitude and demeanour Recognizes and resolves problems quickly and efficiently Works in a team environmentPOSITION SCOPE
Interacts with Company of Mary Sisters, staff, and retreatants on a regular basis and visitors/vendors on an occasional basis. Must have the ability to work as a team member with other staff personnel.EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS REQUIRED
High school or GED level Food safety certificate preferred Food Handler certificate requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift 40+ lbs on a regular basis, standing, walking, climbing, crawling, sitting, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, hearing, seeing, reaching, speaking, repetitive forward bending, prolonged gripping of an item, repetitive hand/finger movements, sense of touch/feel.Work Remotely No Job Type:
