Job Description

Job Overview Join our team at Silver Treasures Assisted Living facility for seniors. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher, with energy and attention to detail to help keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this role you'll be vital to our food service operation, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for all meal preparations. Whether supporting chef in food prep, maintaining impeccable sanitation standards, or serving 3 meals a day to our senior residents, your contribution will help deliver an exceptional dining experience. Duties Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients under supervision Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, work surfaces, storage areas, and waste disposal to ensure a safe working environment Help with serving residents, bussing tables and clearing dining areas during service to support smooth food service operations Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels Experience Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or senior care facility environment is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided Familiarity with basic kitchen operations such as cleaning procedures and food handling practices is advantageous Strong work ethic, with the ability to follow instructions diligently is crucial, especially with regards to food allergies & dietary restrictions of our residents Enthusiastic attitude towards learning culinary skills and supporting team efforts in hospitality environments This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in food preparation, cleaning, and customer service. Can you do this schedule? This job requires an AHCA background check, with fingerprints. If you are not already in that system (ex: worked recently in healthcare or senior facilities) you will need to go through the process in order to be considered for a position here ( or at any senior facility). The fee to get registered in the AHCA system is $79 & must be paid with a credit/debit card to proceed past the interview stage. You would then be 'in the system' for 5 years - so it would be good for use at other senior facilities. If you are not already in the AHCA system, would you be able to get registered if we are ready to move beyond the interview process?
