Job Description
At Smokesmith Bar-B-Que, every role matters. We serve real Texas style BBQ in North Idaho, and the crew behind the scenes keeps the whole operation moving. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Lead Dishwasher who can take ownership of the dish pit, stay steady during busy service, and help keep the restaurant clean, organized, and ready for every guest. This is not a hide in the back and coast kind of job. The dish pit is the backbone of our kitchen. Clean dishes, stocked stations, organized storage, and a steady rhythm all help keep the BBQ flowing. About the Role This position is ideal for someone who can work consistently, take pride in doing the job right, and be counted on as a steady part of the closing crew. Evening availability is required, including the ability to work until 10 PM. The schedule will include five nights per week, with weekends as part of the regular rotation. Full time or part time may be available for the right person. Because of the evening hours, applicants must be at least 16 years old. What You'll Do Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, pans, and cookware quickly and thoroughly Keep the dish pit clean, organized, and moving during service Keep the dish pit, storage areas, and prep stations clean, organized, and stocked so the team is set up for the following day Bus and wipe tables as needed so guests can be seated quickly Keep floors, bathrooms, dining areas, and back of house areas clean and ready Handle trash, recycling, restocking, and general cleaning without needing constant direction Communicate with the pit and front of house team when support is needed Help create a clean, safe, efficient work environment for the whole crew Who We're Looking For Someone reliable, punctual, and consistent Someone available for evening shifts until 10 PM Someone able to work five nights per week, including weekends Someone who can stay focused and move with purpose in a busy restaurant Someone who takes pride in clean work and does not cut corners Someone who can lift 50+ lbs and stay on their feet throughout a shift Someone who can handle heat, noise, mess, and fast paced service without flinching Someone ready to take responsibility for the dish area and help set the standard Why Work Here Competitive hourly pay Shared tips Employee discount Shift meals A hardworking crew that has each other's backs Opportunities to learn more about restaurant operations and real wood fired barbecue Bottom Line We are looking for someone who shows up, works hard, takes pride in the details, and wants to be a steady part of the crew.
