In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation and basic cooking tasks. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure that our kitchen operates efficiently, food safety standards are upheld, and guests receive high-quality service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced food service setting. Responsibilities Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to recipes. Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients for meal service, including slicing, dicing, and measuring. Maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations. Help with kitchen organization by stocking supplies, rotating stock items, and disposing of waste appropriately. Support meal service by setting up stations, assisting servers when needed, and ensuring timely delivery of prepared dishes. Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, knife skills, and kitchen equipment operation to prevent accidents. Requirements Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and bending frequently. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail-oriented work ethic. Familiarity with kitchen tools such as knives and cooking utensils is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in dietary aide work or menu planning is advantageous but not mandatory.
