A Dishwasher maintains sanitation and safety by cleaning dishes, equipment, and workstations, removing waste, and assisting with basic food prep. Key tasks include operating dish machines, sweeping/mopping, stocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with health standards, often requiring heavy lifting and fast-paced,, physically demanding work.

Core Responsibilities Dishwashing and Sanitation:

Uses commercial dishwashers or manual sinks to clean glassware, pots, pans, and utensils, maintaining proper sanitizer levels.

Cleaning and Organization:

Sweeps/mops floors, cleans walls, sanitizes garbage cans, and organizes storage areas.

Waste Management:

Removes trash from the kitchen and empties it into dumpsters.

Support Duties:

Assists with basic food preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables) and supports chefs/staff during service.

Safety Compliance:

Adheres to safety and health regulations, including proper handling of chemicals.

Job Requirements Physical Strength:

Ability to stand/walk for long periods (8-10 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs.

Environment:

Works in a fast-paced, noisy, and hot environment.

Schedule:

Often requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills:

Prior, professional dishwashing experience is preferred, though not always required.
