About the
Role:
The Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of a food service establishment, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and ready for use. This position supports the kitchen and dining staff by efficiently managing the flow of clean items, which directly impacts the overall customer experience and operational efficiency. The Dishwasher must adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment. This role requires physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and stand for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail. Ultimately, the Dishwasher contributes to the smooth operation of the kitchen by providing essential support that allows chefs and servers to focus on food preparation and customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic reading and comprehension skills to understand cleaning instructions and safety guidelines.

Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.

Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions without compromising quality or safety.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment.

Knowledge of proper sanitization techniques and food safety standards.

Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.

Basic understanding of workplace safety regulations and personal protective equipment use.

Strong work ethic and reliability with a positive attitude toward teamwork.
Responsibilities:
Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment and manual cleaning methods.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including floors, sinks, and work surfaces, to comply with health and safety regulations.

Sort and remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen and dishwashing area in a timely and sanitary manner.

Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and restocking supplies as needed during slower periods.

Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and operational priorities.
Skills:
The required skills such as basic reading and following instructions ensure that the Dishwasher can understand and implement cleaning protocols and safety measures effectively. Sanitization skills are essential for maintaining a hygienic environment, preventing contamination, and complying with health regulations. Physical abilities like lifting heavy weights and standing for long periods are used daily to handle dishes and equipment efficiently without injury. Flexibility in scheduling allows the Dishwasher to adapt to the dynamic needs of the food service operation, ensuring coverage during peak hours and special events. Together, these skills enable the Dishwasher to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and contribute to a smooth, safe, and clean kitchen environment. Monday through Friday 7am - 3pmFull time - 40 hours/wk
