Role:
The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential for the smooth operation of the food service environment, as it directly impacts the efficiency of the kitchen staff and the overall dining experience for customers. The Dishwasher will be responsible for adhering to health and safety regulations while performing their duties, contributing to a safe and hygienic workplace. By efficiently managing the dishwashing process, the Dishwasher helps to minimize wait times for customers and supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality meals. Ultimately, this role is vital for upholding the establishment's reputation for cleanliness and service excellence. This role is seasonal, and can be part-time or full-time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read and follow instructions in English. Experience in a food service environment is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service.
Responsibilities:
Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, including food prep and cleaning kitchen surfaces.
Skills:
The required skills for this position, such as basic reading and following instructions, are essential for understanding cleaning protocols and safety guidelines. Sanitization skills are critical in ensuring that all kitchenware is properly cleaned to meet health standards. The ability to lift and carry heavy items is necessary for moving large pots and pans, while standing for extended periods is a fundamental aspect of the job. Flexibility in scheduling allows the Dishwasher to adapt to the needs of the kitchen, especially during peak hours. Regular and reliable attendance is vital to maintain the workflow and support the kitchen team effectively.
