We're building a future where nutritious, sustainable food is accessible, craveable, and part of everyday life About the Role Reporting to the Culinary Supervisor, the Dishwasher ensures the production function is performed satisfactorily on the kitchen floor which includes washing wares and equipment, ensuring all dish equipment is functional and operational, allergy equipment are handled with proper care following protocols, and organization of the dish-room. How You'll Make a Difference Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the dish room Understand how to operate commercial dishwashing machine Understand how to properly wash dishes using a manual three compartment sink process Follow the direction of the culinary leadership team to keep the cadence of having materials and equipment cleaned as quickly as possible so materials are ready to be used when needed. Appropriately store and manage all equipment that goes through the dish room Clean and sanitize all necessary kitchen equipment by the EOS to include but not limited to, small wares, cooking utensils, cooking equipment, kitchen equipment, utility carts, speed racks, brown crates, bread racks, walls in the dish room/kitchen and rolling dollies. Follow GMP, safety and COVID safety guidelines Understanding and communicating when allergen free materials are being washed, stored and utilized while following proper sanitization and storage protocols Ensure that Sanitation buckets, cleaning solution and materials are stocked and available prior to starting shift. Execute and complete the necessary Dishwashing logs, sanitation tracking, temperature taking and other Quality Control and Quality Assurance as required and turn in documentation at end of shift to culinary manager on duty Communicate with culinary leadership an equipment related or safety issues immediately upon discovery Identify, communicate, and record all shorts in dish room cleaning supply inventory; dispose of unusable small wares needing to be removed from usage Support Culinary leadership in ensuring OSHA compliance standards are adhered at all times by staff Support Culinary leadership with internal QA Audits initiatives As required, support Culinary leadership with Associate Cook duties. Additional duties that may be assigned Who You Are High school diploma required Ability to operate a large-scale dish machine and 3-compartment sink Ability to form effective working relationships with a cross-functional team Ability to adhere to company SOPs and support in implementation of new initiatives Experience in high-volume dishwashing is greatly preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend or early morning shifts Be punctual and abide by attendance guidelines Dress appropriately for working in wet conditions Our Culture Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential values at Thistle.
