In this vital role, you will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and managing receiving duties. Duties Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen dishes, utensils, cookware, and food prep equipment to uphold health standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning to support meal production. Receive and inspect deliveries of food and supplies, ensuring accuracy and proper storage in accordance with safety protocols. Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients and supplies for cooking or catering events. Follow food safety guidelines diligently during handling, cleaning, and storage processes. Help with kitchen organization by restocking supplies and maintaining a tidy work environment. Assist in serving meals when needed and ensure all food handling procedures meet industry standards. Experience Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable. Background in food service, restaurant work, or the food industry provides valuable insight into kitchen operations. Culinary experience including menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills is preferred. Familiarity with food safety practices and proper food handling procedures is essential. Experience in catering or meal service environments will be advantageous. Strong organizational skills related to receiving shipments and managing inventory are beneficial. Prior kitchen experience demonstrating attention to cleanliness and safety standards will help you succeed in this role.
