Utility Steward

Summary:

Maintain the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dishes, glassware, utensils, and other kitchen operating equipment.

Requirements:

Ensure the kitchen is clean, maintained and organized at all times. Maintain cleanliness of dish station and dish machine. Empty trash receptacles transport trash to the disposal area. Clean kitchen various kitchen equipment. Sweep & mop kitchen floors and clean mats. Adhere to all sanitation guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor Works well under pressure and the ability to multi-task. Follow all safety procedures for always operating and cleaning all machinery. Maintains neat professional appearance and always observes personal cleanliness rules. Adheres to state and local health and safety Wash rubber floor mats on as-needed basis. Must be able to wash dishes, pots, overnight porter and gather equipment. Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required or apparent.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ability to lift and transport large quantity of dishes, silverware, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment for short distances and store appropriately. Ability to move up to 50 lbs.; stand up to 7a long duration; perform manual cleaning tasks. Ability to learn basic cleaning and sanitation methods. Ability to follow verbal instruction. Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, in a team environment, with a minimum of supervision. Interested in the food service industry. High-energy, outgoing personality with strong professional interpersonal skills. Diplomatic team player, able to foster relationships with team members.
