Position Summary The Steward maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, dish, and storage areas, ensuring the back of house runs smoothly and to health-code standards. This role is the backbone of a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen and directly supports the entire culinary team. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, organized, and takes pride in a spotless operation. Compensation $13.00-$18.00 per hour, based on experience. Key Responsibilities Kitchen Sanitation & Cleaning Maintain immaculate cleanliness of the kitchen, dish area, floors, and surfaces Perform deep-cleaning of equipment, hoods, walls, and storage areas on schedule Ensure all areas meet health-code and SUZU sanitation standards Dish & Equipment Management Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishware, glassware, cookware, and utensils Operate and maintain dish machines and cleaning equipment correctly Ensure a continuous supply of clean ware to the kitchen and FOH Stocking & Organization Organize and restock cleaning supplies, dishware, and storage areas Receive, move, and store deliveries safely and correctly Maintain orderly, labeled, and accessible storage areas Waste & Recycling Manage trash, recycling, and waste removal promptly and properly Keep waste areas clean, sanitary, and compliant Support waste-reduction and sustainability practices Safety & Compliance Follow all sanitation, hygiene, and safety protocols rigorously Handle chemicals, equipment, and hot items safely and correctly Keep walkways and work areas clean, dry, and unobstructed Qualifications 0-2 years of kitchen, steward, or dish experience (restaurant preferred but not required) Strong work ethic, reliability, and physical stamina Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization ServSafe / food-handler certification a plus (or ability to obtain) Team-oriented attitude and willingness to support the BOH What Suzu Offers Competitive hourly pay Training in kitchen sanitation, safety, and back-of-house operations Opportunities to grow into Lead Steward and Prep Cook roles Professional, respectful, and supportive environment Staff meals and continuous development How to Apply Apply online at https://suzuhospitality.applytojob.com/.
