Job Description

Pope House Bourbon Lounge is a neighborhood staple in NW Portland and we have an opening for a part time kitchen staff position. For many years we have served regulars and people from out of town with one of the best whiskey selections Portland has to offer and over the past couple years we have reorganized our small kitchen to match. We are a scratch kitchen, making everything in house aside from our bread. We specialize in regional BBQ, pickling, southern standards, midwest comfort and anything that pairs well with whiskey. Along with specialty meats we have rotating seasonal veg and vegan dishes because it's tasty and we love to serve our community. Along with that we have one of the best happy hours around and we need a friendly person, who is eager to learn and join our tight knit crew.
Job duties include:
Serving and preparing food for guests to our standards.

Chopping and cleaning veg, simple sauce work, helping with smoker and more general prep tasks over time.

Helping with dishes. We work as a team on this through service but as a closer you are expected to wrap up the dishes and clean out the dish pit and dishwasher.

Closing duties also include: stocking, cooling warm foods in a safe manner, wrapping cold items, wiping down surfaces, helping F.O.H. with dishes, pulling matts, sweeping/mopping kitchen and behind the bar, and taking out the trash.

While this job requires some basic knife skills and is ideal for someone with a couple years of kitchen experience we are excited to teach you how we do things. If you have more experience than that and you are interested in our fair, we would still like to meet you and see if you're a good fit, because we are adaptable and might have other shifts available for kitchen veterans. Perks include hourly $17-18 along with cash tips, staff meals, discounted shift drink, and discounts if you decide to join us on your day off, as well as a team that has your back. It's a small house and we require attention to detail, along with a willingness to get the job done with a respectful and fun demeanor. •please do not walk in with resumes on Fridays or Saturdays•
