Position Overview Dishwasher/Steward primary objective is to maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen by washing kitchen items, equipment, and area; removing trash; maintaining equipment and supplies. Position Responsibilities Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas. Load and unload dishwashing machines. Sweep and mop floors. Wash pots, pans, trays, worktables, walls, refrigerators, floors, baseboards. Wash specific items by hand (e.g., wooden cutting boards, large pots) Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately. Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours. Maintain cleaning supplies (e.g., detergents) and inform the chef to place orders when necessary. Check the washing machines' operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues. Remove garbage and wash bins regularly. Sanitize the kitchen area on a nightly basis. Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned. Education/Experience Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, ability to push and pull carts and equipment.
