POSITION SUMMARY
The Dishwasher helps create a joyful and vibrant community by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Is prompt and reliable in coming to work. Assists in clearing and resetting counters or tables at conclusion of each course. Assists residents to dining area if required. Delivers prompt and courteous service. Runs dishwashing machine. Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area. Maintains infection control standards, updates and inspects sanitizer and dish machine temperature logs. Cleans dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, or utensils. Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwasher or by hand. Places clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas. Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine. Sorts and stacks clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering. Changes dishwater in dish machine every two hours, or before washing glasses or tableware. Washes pots, pans and trays by hand. Assists cook in serving and plating out meals, as needed. Assists cook with food preparation, as needed. Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry. Sweeps/mops floors. Cleans and rolls/unrolls mats. Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on system assigned tasks and duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Basic knowledge of various kitchen equipment and appliances. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Maintains current Food Handler's card. Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations. Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Relates positively and communicates appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees. Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position. Maintains CPR and/or First Aid Certification as required by State regulation. Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check. Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
