Part Time Usher (Crowd Control) City of Anaheim, CA - 4.7 Anaheim, CA Job Details Part-time $18.93 - $20.08 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Retirement plan Qualifications Maintaining an organized workspace Outdoor work Customer inquiry handling Full Job Description Description The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) , owned and operated by the City of Anaheim , reigns as the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast, hosting major well-attended events such as the Winter NAMM Show, Disney's D23 Expo, VidCon, and more. Originally opened in 1967, the ACC now spans 53 acres with 1.8 million square feet of function space and numerous dynamic features. Our seventh expansion, completed in Fall 2017, added 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space for our guests. We are seeking dynamic, customer-service-oriented individuals to join our team as Part Time Ushers (Crowd Control). Under moderate supervision, Part Time Ushers greet guests, maintain order in assigned areas, and direct guests to designated parking areas. This is an event-related, part-time, year-round position averaging approximately 20 hours per week. A minimum number of hours is not guaranteed . Candidates must be available to work an average of 20 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed functions and/or may be required to perform additional or different functions from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Maintain order in assigned areas. Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Direct guests to parking spaces. Assist the public in locating seats or the event location. Answer questions regarding parking procedures and event information. Report unauthorized vehicles entering restricted areas. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Qualifications Ability to : Communicate orally and deal effectively and diplomatically with the public, supervisors, and fellow employees. Climb up and down stairs, walk, and stand for extended periods of time. Maintain availability to permit scheduling during weekdays, weekends, early mornings, and holidays as assigned. Work in inclement weather. Maintain order in assigned areas. Assist the public in locating seats. Knowledge of principles and processes of providing customer service.
Supplemental Information Note :
These are event-related positions. While the hours of work are irregular and no minimum number of hours is guaranteed, employees are expected to be available for an average of twenty hours per week. Availability to permit scheduling during weekdays, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned may be required.
Environmental/Working Conditions Physical Conditions :
Due to the nature of work assignments, incumbents must be able to work outside in inclement weather and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Supervision Received and Exercised :
Works under the moderate supervision of the Usher Captain. •

RETIREMENT BENEFITS
- The City contracts with the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) to provide retirement benefits. Retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS. Part-time eligible employees become members of CalPERS as either Classic or New members. Part-time employees not eligible for CalPERS are required to participate in the City's part-time 457 plan, as a replacement plan for Social Security.
