The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour. The Honda Center is looking for enthusiastic ushers to provide excellent customer service to our guests. Ushers must maintain the Honda Center's quality standards in creating a safe, fun, and seamless experience for all the guests. It is our goal to make our guests' experience at the Honda Center as enjoyable and pleasant as possible. An usher presents a friendly and personal demeanor to guests at all times and is readily able to assist at all times. The ideal candidate will have experience with client-facing, in-person customer service. Responsibilities Ushers are responsible for assisting guests at various public gatherings or entertainment events Duties within Event Services include ticket taking, ticket verification, club, suite and general seating assistance, elevator assistance, program distribution, facility locator such as restrooms and all other guest relations Entry process into the Honda Center allowing guests' event access, verification of valid tickets, scanner usage/knowledge, providing general directions and assisting with handouts including lifting and moving boxes to various locations Responsible for a variety of areas including elevators, stairwells, aisles, and lobbies Usher will conduct ticket verification for assigned section, direction to specific seat, assist with resolving ticket issues and those requiring special seating needs Stand at the top of assigned section with the regular intervals of walking up and down the stairs to ensure guest needs are being met Responds in a timely manner to the guests needs and reports any concerns to the supervisor Ushers may be assigned to work in confined areas such as elevators Follows proper procedures during evacuations and emergencies Performs other related duties as assigned Skills High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 18 years of age Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy Strong oral communication skills Ability to climb up and down stairs at varying inclines Works well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time Flexible schedule
