Guest Service Attendant Strawberry Recreation District Mill Valley, CA Job Details Part-time $22 - $27 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Guest relations High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Retail store experience Full Job Description Overview Join the Strawberry Rec team as a Guest Services Attendant, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail help create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our community members and guests! As a Guest Services Attendant, you'll greet patrons, check pool members and guests into the facility, process guest fees, assist with registrations for drop-in programs, and provide excellent customer service. You'll also support facility operations by conducting facility and rental check-ins, ensuring rental spaces are clean and ready for use, helping guests follow facility rules, and securing facilities after use. This is a year-round position with a afternoon and weekend scheduling. Weekend availability is required, preferably Sundays. Duties Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while confidently applying and enforcing facility rules, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and positive environment. Greet guests warmly upon arrival and check in pool members, guests, program participants, and facility users. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding memberships, facility rentals, programs, swim lessons, and general facility operations. Explain and enforce facility policies, membership requirements, rental agreements, and pool rules to ensure a safe and positive environment. Monitor facility and pool usage, assisting with guest flow and addressing concerns or conflicts professionally and courteously. Process cash, check, and credit card transactions accurately for guest fees, memberships, rentals, and program registrations using RecDesk. Assist with registrations and check-ins for drop-in programs, special events, and facility rentals. Prepare rental spaces for use, verify facilities are clean and ready for scheduled reservations, and ensure rental groups comply with facility policies. Conduct facility walk-throughs and secure facilities, including locking up after programs, rentals, and scheduled activities. Support basic program and event operations to help ensure activities run smoothly. Perform additional duties as assigned by the SRD Supervisors, Coordinators and General Manager to support facility operations. Experience Comfortable enforcing rules and policies to adults and children Previous experience in customer service or guest services roles preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are key! Lifeguard experience is highly desirable; certification in lifeguarding or water safety is a plus - but not required! Familiarity with working with children and managing diverse groups enhances your ability to connect with guests of all ages Skills in public speaking help you confidently communicate safety instructions and event details to groups of guests Ability to manage conflicts calmly and effectively ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone involved Requirements High School Diploma Previous job experience, retail management/leadership experience is a plus
